Our main interest is the neuroendocrine regulation of energy homeostasis with particular emphasis on the role of the endocannabinoid system in the control of appetite, wakefulness and reward/addiction pathways- and the effect of metabolic signals on higher brain functions and neurodegeneration, also though the gut-brain axis.

We have active research programs to pursue the role of endocannabinoids and phytocannabinoids on neurogenesis, neurodifferentiation and  synaptic plasticity, in vitro and in mouse model of epilepsia and ASD.

We combine classical neurobiological approaches, including electrophysiology and neuroanatomy, with pharmacology, molecular biology, and genetic techniques to better understand biological events from the single cell up to the level of animal models of obesity.
